In splendid sunshine Frank Sheehy Park was awash with colour as the finals of the John B Keane league took place on Friday evening last 25th May. Members of the Listowel convent school band – Ava McElligott, Triona B Kennedy and Katelyn Shine played the Boro, the Ashes, An Ghleann and the Rural Rangers teams around the park. First off was the B final where The Ashes captained by Caoimhe Lynch and Dylan Twomey took on the Rural Rangers skippered by Emilie Browne and Patrick McCormack. As Colman O’Flaherty threw in the ball The Ashes took off in an attack led by John Breen and a great score from Daniel Shine opened the scoring and the Ashes never looked back.

Emmets Ladies used clothes collection

Emmets Ladies are having a used clothes collection this coming Saturday May 19th. Please support with a good clean out of clothes, shoes, handbags, belts, bed linen, towels and curtains (no pillows or duvets please). Emmets Ladies hosted an U12 tournament in memory of Breda Lynch on Saturday last in Frank Sheehy Park in which there was a magnificent turnout. A huge thanks to all teams that took part on the day and to everyone who helped out in any way. We had great fun and games which included an exhibition game from our Gaelic 4 Mothers and An Garda Siochana and we are delighted that the day turned out to be a fitting tribute to Breda. We now look forward to the Memorial Race Night in Brosnans Bar this coming Saturday and hope to see you all there.
