County Junior League Group 2 – Semi-Final
Moyvane 3-16 Emmets 3-11
Quiet literally a game of two halves with Emmets seemingly controlling matters until the 5th minute of the second half in which Moyvane took over and fired over some impressive scores. Emmets will be disappointed with how they finished the game off as the home side worked hard all over the field and deserved their victory on the evening to book their place in the Final. Best for Listowel were David Keane, Dara Hughes, Shay McKenna and Jack Wall.
Emmets: Conor Beasley, Sean Mahony, Shane Quinn 0-01, Shay McKenna, John Heaphy (Capt), Daragh Broderick, Adam Mulvihill, Sean Gilbert, Jack Wall, Jack Hartnett, David Keane0-04, Dara Hughes 1-02, Sam Tarrant 0-03, Noel Kennelly 1-01, Ashly Kelliher

Emmets B 2-12 Ballydonoghue B 1-13
Our B team had a great win over near neighbours Ballydonoghue in Ballylongford on Tuesday evening last. This was an extremely close encounter all the way through with some excellent scores from both sides. Emmets raced in to a 0-06 to 0-01 lead after 15 minutes with Noel Kennelly and Sam Tarrant to the fore. Within 5 minutes however Ballydonoghue were level after some great work from Jack Behan and Dermot O’Connor but it was midfield stalwart Martin O’Mahony who drove at the Emmets defence to put the ball over keeper Paul Kennedy for the first goal of the game. Ballydonoghue had the tails up now as Brian Mason and Stephen Foley added two more scores but wing forward Dara Hughes kept Listowel in the game as he toe-poked a breaking ball into the net before adding a lovely point to leave the scoreline at the break reading Emmets 1-07 Ballydonoghue 1-07.
Sean Gilbert opened the scoring for Listowel two minutes into the second half before Noel Kennelly added another to put Emmets back in control of proceedings. Ballydonoghue were not ready to throw in the towel just yet however as they reeled off the next three scores to go back in front. Emmets switched Kennelly out around the middle to try and steady the ship and that he did as David Keane converted a placed ball to level matters again. Next came the score of the game as Kennelly took off on a run down the left before cutting in at the end line to lay the ball off to the on-rushing Eibhin O’Brien who calmly palmed the ball to the net to the delight of the Black and Amber. Kennelly struck again while the iron was hot to push Emmets four points clear and they never looked back from here. Ballydonoghue rallied late with two scores near the death but it wasn’t to be as Emmets held on to retain the cup which captain John Heaphy proudly accepted from sponsor Con McCarthy. Well done to all involved.
